# How to tunnel DNS through NordVPN?

Hi all, I’m a bit of a noob when it comes to Linux and networking and general, but trying my best to learn. I’ve been able to get my NordVPN set up by using the dietpi-vpn tool, and when checking the external IP it seems to be routed properly. However, when I use something to check the DNS, it shows my ISP instead of going through Nord.
Are there some specific settings I need to change somewhere to make sure the DNS queries are going through the VPN?

which DNS server has been set?

Ah it looks like it is going to my router at 192.168.1.1. What should I change it to, to make it go through the vpn?

In this case you should be able to change DNS server via `dietpi-config.`

I see. Would I just put the NordVPN DNS servers ( 103.86.96.100 and 103.86.99.100) as a custom address in the Static DNS section of the adapter options? Does that tunnel it through the VPN?
