Any suggestions on how to test this then? I have other Raspberry Pi SBCs which are not being used in production right now, but I do not have any RPi 5.
There is no need for a RPi5. Just the new structure has been introduced by RPi developer with the 5. But it is applicable for all RPi devices. Sooner or later we will offer migration to new kernel structure for all our RPi users. Means, it can be tested with RPi2,3,4 without problem.
What DietPi images do not have the new RPi kernel architecture installed? Any of dietpi_Rpi-ARMv8* images here? - Index of /downloads/images
Does it matter if I test on Bullseye, Bookworm, or Trixie?
You can test with Bookworm.
Following up with you to see if the RPi developers have fixed the conflict you mention here.
As far as I know, it should work again. But I haven’t tested it myself.
Any idea if anyone else has tested this process out?
you mean the kernel migration into new structure? Yes has been done by others already. I just tested it on a new fresh empty demo system without issue.
Yes, I mean the kernel migration into new structure. I also just tested this DietPi kernel migration script you shared in this thread and it appears to be working correctly. Thank you.
