another option to try would be

  1. install plain RPi OS
  2. perform all possible updated
  3. run the benchmark
  4. using dietpi-installer to get DietPi on top of the existing RPi OS
  5. https://dietpi.com/docs/hardware/#make-your-own-distribution
  6. run the benchmark again
