dietpi-backup and wifi hotspot

I noticed that when I’m logged into dietpi via the WiFi hotspot package, then I will lose connectivity when running “dietpi-backup”. Looks like the hotspot gets deactivated during backups? I’m using a Raspberry Pi 3B+, fresh install.

Perhaps this caused the connectivity loss?

That’s common behaviour, unfortunately. I also use my raspberry as wifi hotspot (I live in Ukraine and it it’s my go-to device when I don’t have electricity, but still have ethernet) and ANY software
install, backup etc disables wifi, which is quite annoying…

The only solution, it seems, is to modify the /boot/dietpi/dietpi-services

You are answering on a 4 year’s old post. And usually the WiFi should stay connected, even on software installation. Can you share some more details on your system? Which SBC? What DietPi version?
