I understand that, but since I already have filled it with some stuff I have to use samba
samba shares seems to work so I stick with that, thanks for the help anyway
Just a little puzzled because I searched for a format for my new hdd that would work best with the pie, but apparently I chosed the wrong for nfs.
It’s not a wrong file system format for NFS. It’s wrong format for Linux at all.

As far as using the hostname
From my experience here with DietPi version 9.02 you would need to run the command
dietpi-software install 152
This will install the avahi-daemon, you may get several errors on install but it still works after a reboot. You can check on the service with
systemctl status avahi-daemon
Here the default hostname was discoverable from macos as DietPi.local
