Can't understand how to share folders as nfs shares

I understand that, but since I already have filled it with some stuff I have to use samba

samba shares seems to work so I stick with that, thanks for the help anyway
Just a little puzzled because I searched for a format for my new hdd that would work best with the pie, but apparently I chosed the wrong for nfs.

It’s not a wrong file system format for NFS. It’s wrong format for Linux at all.

yeah thats what I meant, for linux

As far as using the hostname

From my experience here with DietPi version 9.02 you would need to run the command

dietpi-software install 152

This will install the avahi-daemon, you may get several errors on install but it still works after a reboot. You can check on the service with

systemctl status avahi-daemon

Here the default hostname was discoverable from macos as DietPi.local
