I was able to compile and get hostapd working ([see this thread](https://dietpi.com/forum/t/pi-zero-w-project-travel-storage-device/5545/34))  
But haven’t gotten it tested any further…it is compiled on and for a Raspberry Pi0W…so YMMV…
