I am now using your DietPi Bitwarden server in version 2.20.1. Is it possible to update this server to version 2.21.1?

A reinstallation would be needed if you are running vaultwarden.

if you still running old Bitwarden, a dietpi-update would be needed to trigger conversion into vaultwarden.

Sorry, I do not understand immediately because of my age.
I have now run the update (reinstall) and it worked.

Let me try to explain the different names.

Vaultwarden is an alternative implementation of the Bitwarden server API written in Rust and compatible with upstream Bitwarden clients. Before May 2021, the project was named Bitwarden (same as the official server version). Due to user confusion and to avoid any possible trademark/brand issues, the project has been renamed to vaultwarden.

We from DietPi side implemented an update step inside dietpi-update to force a reinstall of Bitwarden and have it renamed into vaultwarden. This way we respect the renaming of the vaultwarden author and ensure continues support on this software title.
